The ZENN meets or exceeds all the Federal standards for Neighborhood Electric Vehicles (FMVSS500 standards). Of course, it also meets European safety standards.

ZENN has seat belts, mirrors, a back-up alarm, normal automotive lights, a sting aluminum frame designed to absorb impacts, and it offers excellent visibility.

The vehicle does not require the same standards as highway automobiles manufactured for the U.S. market, so it has no airbags or extra reinforcement in the doors.
